Cape Winelands Full Day Tour

The Cape Winelands has a long history in winemaking stretching back to the seventeenth century. It is a particularly beautiful area featuring vineyard covered valleys, majestic mountains and historic old-world towns. All of it in close proximity to Cape Town. Some of the oldest vineyards are actually located inside modern Cape Town - but you’ll be heading out to the countryside.

Your itinerary includes all three of the main historic Winelands towns - Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek. You’ll also enjoy a cellar tour, as well as guided wine tastings at three different wine estates. Lunch will be for your own account.

During your cellar tour you’ll be introduced to the complete wine-making process including the harvesting of grapes, fermentation, bottling and aging. The wine tastings will feature cultivars from the particular estate. After a brief introduction to how tasting actually works, you’ll be introduced to various wines, one at a time. You’ll be guided as to what to consider when tasting each wine. Of course it’s for you to decide which wines suit your particular preferences. You’ll have the option to buy a wine or two, or if you so prefer to have a crate or two shipped home.

You’ll do a town tour of Stellenbosch, the oldest modern South African town after Cape Town. With it’s oak-lined streets and old Cape-Dutch architecture the town is a favourite for many.
