Africa Deluxe Tours Storms River Gorge

Storm’s River Mouth

Storms River Mouth is the main camp within the Tsitsikamma section of the Garden Route National Park. The Tsitsikamma section comprises a coastal stretch roughly 5 km wide. It includes the Tsitsikamma rain forest that drops down to the rugged coastline with a marine conservation region approximately 80 km. wide.

Accommodation in the camp ranges from campsites to comfortable bungalows. There is a good restaurant with an open deck to the sea, as well as a curio shop and a convenience store.

The rugged landscape and rough waves breaking on rocks offer dramatic scenery. There is a small sandy beach for swimming and a number of hiking trails to follow. South Africa’s most popular hiking trail of 5 days, the Otter Trail, starts here. Adventure lovers have the opportunity of kayaking, white water, tubing rafting and scuba diving. When hiking, look out for dolphins and porpoises, the Black Oyster-Catcher and the Knysna Loerie as well as blue duiker, a miniature antelope that lives in the forest.

Storms River Mouth with its rugged, beautiful scenery is a very popular venue for visitors to the Garden Route.
