The latter is an independent republic falling within Southern Africa. Other countries in this region include:Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, Angola and the Indian Ocean islands of Madagascar, Mauritius, Comoros and the Seychelles.
