Africa Deluxe Tours Citysightseeing bus in Johannesburg

Johannesburg Hop-on-Hop-off Tour (2 day pass)

How it works

Your 2 day pass gives you access to the interlinked ‘Green’ and ‘Red’ City Tour circular routes. You can start your journey at any of the stops on the route and end there again - on both days. When you’re finished touring a stop you return to the indicated bus stop and wait for the next city tour bus to arrive. You can skip selected stops on the route or you may elect to get off at all of them.

The stops on the tour

RED: Constitution Hill (R15-R55); Mining District Walk (free); Carlton Centre & visit to panorama ‘deck’ / top floor (R15); James Hall Museum of Transport - closed Mondays, half-day hours on weekens (classic / veteran vehicles) (free); Apartheid Museum (R30-R75); Newtown Precinct (various attractions); Newtown Junction Mall; Origins Centre at Wits (R40-R80); The Grove - Braamfontein;

GREEN: The Zone @ Rosebank (a mall & connection point to the Gautrain’s Rosebank Station); Zoo Lake; Johannesburg Zoo (R50-R80); Ditsong National Museum of Military History (R20-R40); Constitution Hill (R15-R55).

(Where a rate scale is indicated it mostly depends on either age - e.g. adult or child - or on the tour type selected at the particular stop)

Where to start and end your journey

You can start and end your journey at any of the stops on the route. If you have your own vehicle some of the best options that also offer easy parking include The Zone, Constitution Hill and the Apartheid Museum. If you’re staying at a hotel within reach of a Gautrain station, you can use the Gautrain to connect to The Zone.

Soweto combo

At an extra cost you could also include a loop through Soweto in your ticket price (it connects to the Red Route at the Apartheid Museum). If your time allows rather consider our stand-alone Soweto tour under Johannesburg day tours on our website.
