Hazyview

Hazyview is a small town in Mpumalanga's Lowveld region. Although the greater Hazyview region is beautiful and does justify the poetic name, the town itself is rather drab. It is basically a collection of convenience stores and markets - nothing to write home about.

Its greatest benefit is its location on the main route to the nearby Kruger National Park's main entrance gate - Kruger Gate, as well as the Numbi Gate entrance.

It is also en-route to the excellent private game reserves located within the Sabi Sands Reserve, a private extension to the Kruger Park. The town is relatively close to the Panorama Route.

The whole Hazyview - White River - Nelspruit area is extremely rich in tropical fruit cultivation with, among others, huge banana plantations near Hazyview. The region offers excellent accommodation facilities including golf resorts and game lodges. Various safari and adventure activities and tours operate in the region.

The Lowveld section of the province is part of the coastal plane and is more or less 200m above sea-level.

The scenic Panorama Route, with various viewpoints, runs along the top of a section of the escarpment between the Mpumalanga Highveld and Lowveld. It offers incredible views, we strongly recommend it. The Route may be approached from Ohrigstad or from the logging town of Graskop.
