Africa Deluxe Tours God's Window viewsite

God's Window

The Panorama Route in Mpumalanga, South Africa, runs along the escarpment of the Drakensberg Mountains and offers wonderful viewpoints of the Blyde River Canyon and the Lowveld.

The God's Window viewpoint is situated near the town of Graskop on the R534. It is clearly sign posted and you have to pay a small entrance fee. There is the opportunity to buy typical African crafts at the parking area.

God's Window is one of the most popular viewpoints, situated on the edge of the escarpment with a sheer drop that varies between 800- and 900m. The viewpoint is connected by paved pathways and offers vistas over the Lowveld with it's rolling hills covered with plantations. On a clear day you can see right up to the Kruger National Park and the Lebombo mountains beyond, which form the Eastern border of South Africa with Mozambique.
